Rule Of Ethics

Ethics
• Moral principle that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an
activity
• is a branch of philosophy that involves systematizing, defending, and
recommending concepts of right and wrong conduct.
Ethics
• derived from the Ancient Greek word ēthikós (ἠθικός), meaning "relating to
one's character"
• comes from the root word êthos (ἦθος) meaning "character, moral nature".
Ethics
• “can” be presented or thought of differently in different cultures across the world. The perspective can
be different, narrower/wider when dealing in a certain function. Organizational, structural, family,
religiously etc.
• It is not easy and humans generally have a difficult time with this. Even those who are most vocal
about ethics and morality.

You actually already know how to apply ethics, just keep it in
mind.
Applying Ethics
• Respect
We have an obligation to respect the Independence and decisions of
other people especially concerning their own lives. Offer them basic
human dignity. Empower those whom you have responsibility over.

• Honesty
Be honest with those you interact with, this means keep promises and
in not making promises you can’t keep.

• Justice
Provide others with what they are owed and or what they deserve,
without seeking reprieve. Treat people fairly and try to be impartial.
Don’t be unfair.

• Do no harm.
You have an obligation to do no harm.
If harm cannot be avoided then minimize the harm you do.
Don’t increase the risk of harm to others.
Don't waist resources that could be used for good.
Consider No.1 when thinking about No.4.

• Intent
Your thoughts, actions & decisions should have the intent to produce
good with those you interact with.
Respect and love yourself.

Meta-Ethics
• Concerning the theoretical meaning and reference of moral propositions and
how their truth values can be determined

• Branch of ethics that asks how we understand, whar we know about, and
what we mean when we talk about what is right and wrong
Nnormative Ethics
• Ethical actions

• Branch of ethics that investigates the set of questions that comes up when
considering how one will act, morally speaking
Applied Ethics
• Applying ethical theories into real-life acions.
