UNIT 2 Present simple: positive an negative

The positive is really easy. It's just the verb with an extra 's' if the subject is 'he', 'she', or 'it':

Eat → eats Sleep → sleeps Work → works

However, there are exceptions: if the verb ends in -ch, -sh, -ss, -x, -o, -z you have to add -es

watch →watches miss →misses cross →crosses

fix →fixes mix → mixes buzz →buzzes fizz → fizzes

If the verb ends in "and" you have to be doubly careful because if it ends in a consonant + "y", we remove the
"y" and add "-ies"
study - studies carry - carries fly - flies

There are also few verbs which are irregular in the present simple
1.'have' becomes 'has'
2.'do' becomes 'does'
3.'go' becomes 'goes'
