Muttrah is a small town near Muscat
Was where the Portuguese navigators arrived and
established a trading post
Muttrah is a small town near Muscat
Today it is a commercial and cosmopolitan city.

The calm waters of its bay host the dhows - the traditional Indian
Ocean vessels - and modern ships, including the Sultan's yacht.
Along the bay of Muttrah
develops the Corniche

which surrounds the bay, with

leisure areas, restaurants, small
shops and the traditional souk
Coming from Muscat, by car, the first impression
we have of Muttrah is the traditional balconies.
Watching more closely, we will see the doors in carved wood
And, mainly, the Blue Mosque
Between the Corniche and the bay of Muttrah there is a
leisure area with several sculptural pieces, among which:

Some pairs of fish flipping in the air

the pavilion and the incense burner

Along the other side of the Corniche,
we have the shopping and dining areas
One of the main points of attraction, for tourists
and even for the natural ones, is the Souk
I'll just give you a little idea of what an Arabic souk is
Along our pleasant walk you have certainly
noticed some strange constructions, in the
high points of the mountains that surround
Muttrah

Buildings that bring to our memory

other "things" in more familiar places
Have you noticed?
Passing the gates to the sea port ...

(Even these gates are familiar… )

It was clarified the enigma ... They
are castles and watchtowers built
by the Portuguese in the sixteenth
century
Thank you all for contributing to make
this short training interesting, with
particular reference to the teacher
Helena that made the classes dynamic
and fun.
