Cortafuego) especificando en donde se requieren los mismos:

2.8 Expansion, Seismic, and Control Joints.
Joints shall be provided to prevent cracking due to drying, shrinkage, or normal
building temperature change. The integrity of the fire resistance rating of the
wall shall be maintained by the protection of these joints. Protection for
expansion and seismic joints shall be installed in accordance with tested design
specifications. The fire resistance of expansion, seismic, and control joints in
fire walls shall be determined in accordance with ANSI/UL 2079, Tests for Fire
Resistance of Building Joint Systems, or ASTM E 1966, Standard Test Method
for Fire Resistive Joint Systems.
