• The Nova Waterfront Hotel in downtown Baltimore is
owned and operated by Nova International, a leading
hospitality company with more than 3,900 properties and
18 brands around the world
• The Nova Waterfront Hotel has 733 rooms and 21 suites
• The company had been recognized worldwide for their
enduring values, their spirit to serve, and their corporate
commitment to creating better places to live and work
• Nova Waterfront Hotel is hiring for the position of Senior
Event Manager.
• They had interviewed two canditates for the position of
Senior event manager
Situational Analysis
• At Nova for a hiring process a selection team for
recruitment is formed by the Hiring manager
• 7 member selection committee where everyone
took interviews
• The senior event manager would be responsible
for handling complex events like conferences,
wedding receptions, meetings, and parties.
• The two candidates were Shannon Smith and
Matt Meyes

Recommendation
We recommend to hire Shannon
1. Matt’s rating according to seven recruiters was not as good
as Shannon
2. Company will lose her if she was not promoted
3. Behavioural Theories believe that people can become
leaders through the process of teaching learning and
observation.
4. As Shannon has more experience than Matt and she is part
of the company since long; will be aware of the
organizational structure so she can take better decisions
