on Farmers
Phule-Revati
• Joint Agricultural Research and
Development Committee Meeting-2010 of
the SAUs of Maharashtra state at DBSKKV,
Dapoli, Maharashtra.
• Yield Potential: Grain- 4.6 T/Ha; Fodder-
11.5 T/Ha.
• It has bold grains of pearly white colour and
has better chapati-making quality.
• It is recommended for cultivation in
irrigated areas during rabi on deep-black
soils of western Maharashtra.
Research Objectives

1) To study the personal socio-


economic characteristics of farmers.

2) To assess the Socio-Economic

Phule-Revati on farmers
Methodology
• Locale: The study was conducted
purposively in the Karmala tahsil of Solapur
and Karjat tehsil of Ahmednagar district.
The villages having more number of Phule
Revati growers were selected purposively,
• Sample: 12 villages; 120 respondents
farmers
• Research Design: Ex-Post Facto Design

characteristic of respondent farmers
• Change in Cropping Pattern
• Change in Cultivation Cost of Jowar
• Change in Yield and Net Returns from Phule

• Change in Utilization pattern of Income
from Jowar
Data Collection
Analysis of Data

• The statistical tools like frequency,


percentages, means of the averages and
range were used for interpreting the data
and drawing inferences.

Perception about Performance of
Phule Revati

Conclusion
• Area under cereals has decreased and that of
vegetables has increased
• Phule Revati provided higher per hectare yield
and net returns than other verities grown in the
study area.
• Farmers perceived that Phule Revati gives
higher yield than other varieties and Rotis made
from its flour are tasty. However, dry fodder of
Phule Revati is relatively hard to chew by the
animals.
