MANJUNATH G CONTENTS Abstract Vision Mission Objectives Problem statement Hardware and software requirements Fire bird v Conclusion Future scope ABSTRACT • In real life scenario, there is a need of an automated system for efficient work to be done in an educational institution. • Such a system is needed in order to help certain teaching or non teaching staff of any institution to make it easy and automate their burden work. • The wastage of electricity is one of the major problem nowadays. It has been observed that particularly in the office sectors including colleges , industries and other related areas , fans and lighting points are kept on even if there is nobody in the room. • This may happen due to negligence or lack of care by the people or sometimes they may forget to turn off the lights and fans in hurry. Hence there is a need to conserve energy. • To overcome all such situation the feature to the INSTITUTE-MATE system of power saving is proposed for the real-life implementation at our institution. • In digital world we need every possible thing around us to be automatic which reduces the human efforts and currently there is a scope for research in the field of robotics and automation. • In this regard the proposed system is robotized with sufficient sensors modules and wireless modules for real time power monitoring applications. VISION • To design and develop a robotized system using the UTLP KIT in normal mode that monitors and does all the burdened work in any institution. MISSION • To develop an automated tool that is used to perform the possible operations of managing and controlling the burdened work in any institution. OBJECTIVES • To develop a robotized system to monitor the proctor work of the staff of any educational institution. • To configure the robot FIREBIRD V to turn off the MCB (wirelessly) when the class room is vacant PROBLEM STATEMENT • To design and develop an automated system using the UTLP KIT in normal mode that is used to perform and automate the burdened work in any institution. COMPONENTS USED SOFTWARE USED HARDWARE USED • UBUNTU 9.10 operating • RAM>=512 Mb system • Hard disk>=20Gb • ECLIPSE IDE ( Galileo) and c • Processor>=13 • ULK control panel • Firebird v ATMEGA2560 • KEIL software • UTLP kit • Concurrent version system • PIR sensor (Cvs) • White line sensors FIREBIRD V • FIRE BIRD V will help you get acquainted with the world of robotics and embedded systems . • Thanks to its innovative architecture and adoption of the “open source philosophy” in its software and hardware design. • you will be able to create and contribute too , complex applications that run on this platform , helping you acquire expertise as you spend more time with them. • FIRE BIRD V is designed by NEX robotics and embedded real time systems lab, CSE IIT BOMBAY • FIRE BIRD V robot has 6 important modules power management Sensing Actuation( locomotion) Other peripherals Communication Intelligence( microcontroller) CONCLUSION • The main intension of the project is to reduce the effort to burdened work of the staff in any educational organization . • It also saves the power by intelligent power monitoring system, which reduces the man power by instructing the process with the help of most powerful robot. • In this regard, the proposed system has been robotized with necessary modules and wireless modules for real time power monitoring applications. • The robot is a very powerful module, handy and very sophisticated in terms of usage and its features , which can be used in many application such as agricultural , home automation , smart city etc... FUTURE SCOPE • It can be used in future by employing powerful technologies to meet end user requirements. • It can also be used as a proctor worker in any institution by using DBMS concepts.
