 The APM30 is a supporting solution APM30

 The APM30 is used to provide
power supply and power backup
functions for the distributed base
station or the separated base station
in outdoor applications
 The APM30 is also a solution to the

transmission equipment

The APM30 can be used as the power cabinet, the battery cabinet, or the transmission cabinet

installed, a space of 5 U is available
for the user devices .

APMI (APM30 Power Monitor Unit Interface Board)

 Transfers the APM30 serial port
communication signals, Boolean
input/output signals, and EMI signals
 Protects the dry contact input/output
signals and RS485 signals (connected to
the BBU/BTS)

Components of the Power Cabinet

AFMU (APM30 Fan Monitor Unit Interface Board)


Function
 Provides DC power supply to the APMI
and AFMU
 Supplies DC power to the two fans and
reports the alarms of the fans
 Reports the alarms of the internal ambient
temperature sensor, air inlet temperature
sensor, and air outlet temperature sensor
 The alarm signals of the AFMU board is
transported to the APMI and then report to
the BBU

Power Subrack PMU/PSU
 Function
 The power subrack consists of the PMU, PSU (AC/DC) and the wiring unit of the
power subrack (220 V).
 The power subrack (AC/DC) converts the 220 V AC power to the -48 V DC power.

220V AC Power Subrack --- PMU Board

 The power and environment monitoring unit (PMU) is the unit for monitoring the
power and the environment. The PMU provides perfect power system management,
power distribution detection, and alarm report functions.

Identifier Color Status Meaning


RUN Green On for 1 second and The module is functional, and the communication with the main

On for 0.125 second The module runs normally but the communication with the main

one minute, the communication fails. In this situation, the RUN
LED blinks four times every second.

Busbar overvoltage or undervoltage alarm
Power module alarm
Load shutdown alarm

Off No alarm is generated.

Port Purpose
RS232/RS422 port Communicating with the main control unit

Battery control The battery control switch has two control ports ON and OFF, which are used for
switch powering on and off the battery.
Press and hold the port ON for 5s to 10s until the battery is powered on.
Press and hold the port OFF for 5s to 10s until the battery is powered off.
CAUTION:
You need to insert a small round bar into the hole when you operate the battery
control switch. When you hear a crack, the battery is powered on or off.
To operate the battery control switch on the front panel of the PMU, insert a
small round pole into the hole.

Power supply test Two power supply test holes -48 V and 0 V are available for measuring power
port voltages through an ordinary multimeter.

 Transmission Cabinet
 The transmission cabinet provides a space
of 11 U for the user devices.
 The transmission cabinet reports the alarms
of temperature sensor, door status sensor,
and fan.
 The transmission cabinet is configured with
the DCDU-03A, which can provide nine DC
outputs and report the surge protection
alarms

Checklist for the APM30 Cabinet Installation
SN Check Item
1 The installation position of the cabinet strictly comply with the engineering design.

2 When the APM30 is mounted on a wall, the holes of the mounting ears are aligned with the bolt
holes. The mounting ears are placed against the wall securely.

3 When the APM30 is mounted on a metal pole, the pole fixtures are secure and reliable.

4 When the APM30 is installed on the floor, the base is securely installed.

5 The horizontal error of the cabinet is less than 3 mm and the vertical error is not greater than 3 mm.
6 All the bolts are tightened, especially for electrical connections. The flat washers and spring
washers are completely and properly installed.

7 The cabinet is neat and clean.

8 The paint on the surface of the cabinet is satisfactory.

9 The space reserved for the user devices is covered by a filler panel.

10 The cabinet door and the lock are functional. The gag lever post is tightened.

11 All the labels are complete, correct, and legible.
