DOSCST Charter
R. A. 6807 converted the Mati Community College
(1972) into Davao Oriental State College of
Science and Technology (DOSCST) on December
13, 1989.
Campuses of DOSCST – San Isidro Campus
(1997), Cateel Campus (1999) and Banaybanay
(2015).
Education hub for north-eastern of
Davao Oriental
Cateel Provincial High School catered
the educational needs (1947-1976).

delineate 2,000 as school site
Persistence for the dream

• In August 1998 Hon. Maria Elena

• In December 1998 the PTA of CVHS
and CNAHS supported the extension
campus.
Beginning of the realization

• On October 29, 1998, a multi-


stakeholder meeting
• On February 8, 1999, LGU committed
fully furnished academic building and
payment of salary faculty

• On April 28, 1999, Dr. Jonathan A.


Bayogan and party went to Cateel for
a community consultative meeting
and site visits (for temporary site and
permanent site).
Beginning of the realization

• In June, 1999, DOSCST Cateel


Extension Campus started to open
classes with 36 students with DAT-
BAT and BS Agribusiness course
within the Cateel Vocational High
School.
• On February 28, 2000, the MOA was
finally approved by DECS Sec. Bro.
Andrew Gonzales.
Memorandum of Agreements

• A new MOA in 2005 extended for


three years to stay within the CVHS
campus.
• Multi-stakeholder Management
Council - in advisory capacity for the
Campus Head and the College
President.
New Campus

• In June 2012, transferred to a 5


million worth 10 classroom-building
within the 1.6 hectares lot at the Sitio
Madre de Cacao, Poblacion Cateel.

• On December 4, 2012, Typhoon


Pablo totally damaged the building
• Used as evacuation area for
residents of Sitio Tinimbo
• Some faculty (Mrs. Marites Dalagan
and family) and staff (Mrs. Elsie
Cervantes) also took shelter within
the building
Psycho-social interventions

• Classes were suspended for two


month(December 2012 - February
2013;
• The campus became a relocation site
for the Typhoon Pablo victims
• In February 2013, classes resumed
within the CCES
• All 321 students were granted CHED
scholarships
Building Back Better

• In 2014, the province under Gov.


Corazon N. Malanyaon donated a 2.5
hectare located in Sitio Mahan-ub,
Barangay Mainit, 5 kms from the
poblacion
• CHED also provided 25 Million pesos
to construct two 2-storey building

• On April 1, 2016 summer classes


were held in a campus, it finally
owned and owed to develop and
nourish.

• At present, the campus offered six


curricular programs namely
1. BS Agribusiness,
2. Bachelor in Agricultural Technology,
3. BS in Business Administration,
4. BS in Criminology,
5. Bachelor in Secondary Education and
6. Bachelor in Elementary education;

• The campus is

students and
served by 38
faculty members
and 7 staff
members.
