The process
of covering a
wound or an
injury.
Importance of Bandaging
To create a pressure over an area.
To immobilize the part of the body.
To support and protect wound from
contamination.
To reduce bleeding.
Triangular Bandage for Head
1. Fold back the base about 2 inches
to make a hem.
2. Place the middle of the base on the
forehead, just above the eyebrows,
with the hem on the outside.
3. Let the point fall over the head
and down over the back of the
head.
4. Bring the ends of the triangle
around the back of the head above
the ears
5. Cross them over the point
6. Carry them around the forehead,
and tie in a SQUARE KNOT.
7. Tuck it over.
Triangular Bandage for Chest
1. Apex at the shoulder
of injured part
2. Fold the base to the
desired width
3. Carry the ends
around to the back.
4. Tie longer end with
the apex.
Triangular Bandage for the Hip
1. Fold the point,
perpendicular to the
base
2. Tie the two points
around the thigh on the
injured side. Lift the
base up to the waistline
3. Fold to the desired width
4. carry the ends around
the waist
5. Tie on the opposite side
of the body.
Triangular Bandage for Shoulder
1. Start at the
armpit
2. Cross-over at
injured shoulder
3. Tie at the
opposite armpit.
Triangular Bandage for Foot or Hand
1. Place the foot in the
center of a triangular
bandage
2. Carry the point over the
ends of the toes and over
the upper side of the
foot to the ankle.
3. Fold in excess bandage
at the side of the foot
4. Cross the ends, and tie
in a square knot
