 At bow point the velocity is zero which is called stagnation
point.
 The curvature of the ship is not constant throughout the
ship, so the flow velocity changes

50 CONCLUSIONS
 Analysis was performed by employing coarse, medium and fine
meshes, and it was observed that the values of resistance coefficients
varies with the mesh size

 The resistance coefficient at different Froude numbers for steady


turbulent flow was estimated by performing simulations with the
different drafts of the house boat

 The design draft cannot be more than 0.5m when the Froude
numbers cannot be exceeding 0.560 (30 km/h).

 The wave making resistance increases with the speed of the ship with
some humps and hollows, because of interference of bow wave
system, shoulder wave system and stern wave systems

51 CONCLUSIONS

 It is observed that the total resistance is increases with the

speed of the boat and as well as draft of the boat

 Pressure Contours and Velocity Contours are observed.

52 SCOPE FOR FUTURE WORK

 The hydro dynamic analysis was performed under calm water


in this study.

 Analysis can be continued for further study by employing


regular or irregular waves

 Considering air resistance, appendage resistance and viscous


pressure resistance

 Can create better hull forms for effective use.
