Text: Psalm 35:27
Tittle: God wants you to Prosper
7 Reasons God Wants You To Prosper
1. God wants to bless YOU.
2. Jesus came to give you abundant life. . .not abundant lack.
3. God wants you blessed financially so you can finance the
gospel and establish His covenant
4. God wants you honoring Him through your financial success
5. God wants you to be a consistent tither and giver to fund
His local church and ministry outreaches.
6. God wants you to care for the poor, the widows and the
orphans.
7. God wants you to be the head not the tail.
Discussion:
1. God wants to bless YOU.

Psalm 35:27 says:

“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause:
yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath
pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.”
(Clearly, God wants your bills paid, your needs met and your family blessed)

Psalm 84:11
“The LORD is our protector and glorious king, blessing us with kindness
and honor. He does not refuse any good thing to those who do what is
right. (He does not hold back any blessing)

Psalm 115:14 in the Amplified Bible says:

“May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your
children.”
Discussion:
2. Jesus came to give you abundant life. . .not abundant lack

John 10:10 in the New Living Translation says:

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My
purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
(God’s desire is for His children to be rich. . .not just in
spiritual blessings but in material blessings as well.)

2 Corinthians 8:9 says:

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though
he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you
through his poverty might become rich.

Two closely related: He/you was/become rich

Discussion:
The Amplified Bible translation of 2 Corinthians 8:9 says:

“For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and

recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His
undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He
was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very]
poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched
(abundantly supplied).”

Why does God want you blessed and abundantly supplied?

That brings us to number three.
Discussion:
3. God wants you blessed financially so you can finance the
gospel and establish His covenant.

Deuteronomy 8:18 in the New International Version says:

“But remember the Lord your God. He gives you the ability
to produce wealth. That shows he stands by the terms of his
covenant. He promised it with an oath to your people long
ago. And he’s still faithful to his covenant today..”
Discussion:
Here are four things. . .every believer should understand
about Deuteronomy 8:18.

First, remember the Lord thy God. Always remember the One
who gave you His all so you can be your all. . .through Him.

Second, the power to produce wealth is a gift from God. He

has endowed you with the seeds of greatness. He has given
us the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16.) (Our Work)

Third, God will never give you something unless He expects

you to use it….

Fourth, God is giving us the power to be rich for a reason.

Discussion:
2 Corinthians 8:9 in the New International Version says:
“You know the grace shown by our Lord Jesus Christ. Even
though he was rich, he became poor to help you. Because he
became poor, you can become rich.”

Why does He want you to be rich…..to fulfill His covenant….

What is His covenant….that we’re “blessed to be a blessing.”

God has given us the ability…the power to be rich for a

purpose.

Rich = having abundant possessions, especially material

wealth.
Discussion:
4. God wants you honoring Him through your financial success

Proverbs 3:9-10 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from
righteous labors] and with the first fruits of all your income;
So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your
vats shall be overflowing with new wine.”

at verse 9 in the New Living Translation where it says:

“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of
everything you produce.”
Discussion:
5. God wants you to be a consistent tither and giver to fund
His local church and ministry outreaches.

Malachi 3:10 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into
the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and
prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open
the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing,
that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

The Word of God is not conditional on the basis of the mess

you’re in. . .but when applied as written. . .it will deliver you
from the mess you’ve made.
Discussion:
6. God wants you to care for the poor, the widows and the
orphans.
Proverbs 19:17 says:
“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and
that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

James 1:27 says:

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is
this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to
keep oneself from being polluted by the world let this world
make you evil.”
Discussion:
The New Living Translation of James 1:27 says:
“Religion that pleases God the Father must be pure and
spotless. You must help needy orphans and widows and not
let this world make you evil.”

Exodus 22:23-24
23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their

cry. 24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the
sword; your wives will become widows and your children
fatherless.

So here’s the question. . .can you do more for the poor, the
widows and the orphans when you’re poor or when you’re
prosperous?
Discussion:
7. God wants you to be the head not the tail

Deuteronomy 28:10-13
10Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called
by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you.
11The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of
your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your
ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.
Discussion:
12The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his
bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all
the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will
borrow from none.
13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail.
“If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD
YOUR God that I give you this day and carefully
follow them, you will always be at the top, never at
the bottom.”
Summary:
Conclusion:

1. READ YOUR BIBLE……DO WHAT IT SAYS.

Joshua 1:8
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it
day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything
written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

As we begin to prosper…..we will more fully understand

that… AFFLUENCE(PROSPIRITY) creates INFLUENCE.
