Techniques for Summarizing
 Here are some closure suggestions:
 Teacher summary. Be sure to summarize the important points or
critical elements of a lesson for students. Discuss what you taught and
what they learned. This might be the most valuable 3 to 5 minutes of
any lesson.
 Student summary. Provide opportunities for students to summarize a
lesson as well. Inviting them to put a lesson into their own words can
be helpful to you in determining how well they learned the material. It
can be in the form of a poster, mind map,(cotton fibre), picture story
etc.

EVS : My Body -> Interdisciplinary
approach used (with Maths: Patterns and
shapes)

Different shapes were given to the children

(triangle, square and circle) and they were
encouraged to make a human body pattern
out of the shapes provided to them.
Paper plates were given to the children and they were asked to
stick the five sense organs by cutting the papers and sticking it on
the given plates.
By this activity the children came to know the number of sense
organs they have and its uses.
Weekly assignment was given:
The children were asked to observe their parents and
family members, how do they take care of
themselves(trim the nails, brushing their teeth, no of
time they will take bath etc.) By the end of the week a
group discussion was held on their observations made.
This in turn aids the development of speaking skills in
them.
Children were asked to collect bits of different cloth materials from
the near by tailor shop.

Children were then encouraged to come up with a collage of their

favourite dress.
Healthy tooth and Decayed tooth activity:
(Healthy and Junk food)
Children were made to draw and colour the tree .
Children were then instructed to bring pictures of
their family members and they were made to stick
on the tree.
They were encouraged to write a sentence about it.
