On-Site Upgrade (Pros and Corns)
Direct interaction with the client
Centralized or static model
The client has to bear the travel expenses, living expenses (if applicable) of the
Upgrade Team
Time consuming: If the client has to invite Upgrade Specialists its own site i.e.
to On-Site, it will take much longer time for PeopleSoft upgrades
Post Upgrade support is highly expensive
Security depends upon the client security policy
The Upgrade team always be in stress or pressure because of direct client
interaction (i.e. sometimes client forces to follow their own strategy or
methodology)
Client team and the Upgrade Specialists can work simultaneously on the
PeopleSoft Upgrade
As the Upgrade Specialists work in On-Site, access related problems can be
resolved instantly
VPN, Citrix and Remote Desktop connectivity is not required
Off-Site Upgrade (Pros and Corns)
No direct interaction with the client
Decentralized or wide open model as the Upgrade Specialists connect remotely
No need for the client to bear the travel expenses, living expenses (if
applicable) of the Upgrade Team
Speed Process: If Upgrade Specialists has to work remotely, it will speed up the
PeopleSoft upgrades as there is no need for the Upgrade Specialists to travel
and settle down in Client place
Post Upgrade support is not that expensive compared with On-Site Upgrade
Security depends upon the client security policy and data is fully secured in Off-
Site Upgrades
Less Stress will be there on Upgrade Specialists because they work remotely
It is not possible for Client team and the Upgrade Specialists to work
simultaneously on the PeopleSoft Upgrade
As the Upgrade Specialists work in Off-Site, access related problems can not be
resolved instantly
VPN, Citrix and Remote Desktop connectivity are required
