• Counseling settings vary widely.
• The process methods and tools used
by counselors are very similar.
• Counseling professionals in
government setting work with the
various government agencies.

Private Sector Setting
• Counselors range from independent
providers of services of work for:
–NGO’s or Specialized for Profit
Centers
–Organizations that renders a society
of counseling services

Civil Society Setting
• Generally charities or non-
profit and issue based centers
or organizations.

• The role of the counselor is more
complex in this setting.
• School counselors take different
responsibilities and tasks.

• While the CHED for the Philippines
recommends a ratio of 500
