Remind ourselves what nature gives us free-of-charge. Here is a selective sampling of nature's importance
to our lives:
How Man IS Destroying the
Nature
Humans are the most dominant animals in the biosphere. The dependence of humans
on environment is greater than that of other organisms. Human beings are the only
living beings who can change their environment to suit their needs. But, in this
process, they have upset the nature’s balance. Following is a list of activities that have
caused an imbalance in nature :-

1. Deforestation

2. Hunting

3. Overpopulation

4. Pollution

5. Global Warming
and many more….

Fig. Humans are juggling with the nature.

1. Deforestation
 Human beings have been cutting down
trees indiscriminately to create land for
farming and housing to meet the needs
of the ever-increasing human population.

 Many birds and animals have been

rendered homeless due to loss of their
habitat particularly tigers and panthers
who cannot survive anywhere, except in
forest.

 Destruction of habitat has lead to

extinction of some species.
2. Hunting:

Human beings have destroyed large

number of birds and animals by hunting.

Hunting is done either for sport, for

food or for greed. Indiscriminate hunting
of animals can lead to their extinction.

Scientists say if immediate measures

are not taken about, 25% of all the
animal species will become extinct in the
next 25 years.
3. Overpopulation:

 Resulted in pollution of land,

water and soil.

 Caused the depletion of mineral

resources like iron, tin, gold etc.,
and fossil fuels like coal, natural
gas and petroleum.

5. Global Warming

Global warming is :

The increase in the average temperature of

Earth's near-surface air and oceans since
the mid-20th century and its projected
continuation.

Due to Global warming the glaciers melt

and the level of sea water increases.

If it continues, then one day whole

earth will sink.
1. Lets go green to get our globe clean.

2. Put a stop to the drop.

3. Modern technology owes ecology an apology.

4. Use cycle for travelling near distance.

5. Switch off lights when not required.

6. Use CFL instead of bulbs.

Here are some steps you can take to reduce waste:

1. Compost your kitchen scraps.

2. Buy products which can be upgraded rather than replaced.

3. Buy loose rather than pre-packaged food such as fruits and

vegetables.
• Consider reusable products.
• Maintain and repair durable products.
• Reuse bags, containers, and other items.
• Borrow, rent, or share items.
