DEFINITONS:

The Egyptian culture or culture of


Ancient Egypt, was developed in the
valley formed by the Nile River,
located at the northeastern end of
Africa.

The Egyptian culture developed and


evolved over 3000 years, a key river
for the establishment of this new
civilization because thanks to it will
depend on agrarian life and
EPOCHS:

Hieroglyphic writing:
Is the meaning of the words in which it is
exhibited with symbols or figures. The
Egyptians and other ancient peoples used
to use hieroglyphics in their monuments.

Hieratic writing:
Is a cursive script, abbreviated from the
previous, more used in everyday life. It
appears in the texts.

Demotic writing:
Is faster and more popular. It is the one
that appears later and is the one used in
Egypt until the Roman invasion.
GOVERNING:
Pharaoh Narme
For the ancient Egyptians the first
pharaoh was Narmer, called Menes by
Manetho, who ruled about 3050 BC. C.
The last pharaoh was a woman:
Cleopatra VII, of Hellenic descent, who
reigned from the year 51 to 30 a. C.

AGRICULTURE:

Agriculture was linked to the


flood of the Nile and the mud
that deposited in the lands,
making them fertile.

They grew cereals (barley, wheat),


legumes and vegetables (lettuce,
onions, garlic, cucumbers) and fruits
(melons, grapes, dates). To make
fabrics and ropes, the peasants also
cultivated flax.
AGRICULTURE:

In October, the waters retreated, it


was the time of planting, they broke
the land and repaired the canals. In
March the dry season arrived, it was
time to harvest.

To scare away the birds, they invented the


scarecrows and to protect the crops from
catastrophes and favor the harvest, they
invoked the gods.
TRAVELS:

The Egyptians used the Nile River


very much as a means of
transporting heavy merchandise. To
that end, boats of all sizes plowed
the rivers for trade. The large
vessels were made of wood, while
the small vessels were made of
papyrus fibers. But also, camels,
horses and oxen were used as
important means of transportation.
CUSTOMS:
Ancient Egypt, was a civilization very endowed with culture, with
multiple customs, traditions and ceremonies. Each one with a
different objective.
Some of its customs are:

In summary, we can affirm that Egypt is


undoubtedly a great civilization that is worth
studying in depth. its customs, its religion, its
modes of transport, its rulers to the present
day, its magnificent agriculture. etc.
