ability, reasoning and computations.in any given area
2. APTITUDE TESTS- tests which measure potential
in a specific field or area; predict the degree to which
an individual will succeed in any area such as art,
music, mechanical task or academic studies.

• 1.OBJECTIVE TYPE- answers are in the form of a


single word or phrase or symbol.

a. LIMITED RESPONSE TYPE- requires the


student to select the answer from a given number of
alternatives or choices..
Consists of a stem each of which represents
three to five alternatives options in which only
one is correct or definitely better than the other.

TRUE-FALSE OR ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE


consists of declarative statements that one
has to respond or mark true or false, right or
wrong, correct or incorrect, yes or no, fact or
opinion, agree or disagree, and the like.

II.COMPLETION TEST- consists of an incomplete
statement that can be also answered by a word,
phrase, number or a symbol.
Essay questions provide freedom of response that
is needed to adequately assesses students’ ability
to formulate, organize, integrate and evaluate
ideas and information or apply knowledge and
skills.
a. RESTRICTED ESSAY- limits both the
content and the response.
b. EXTENDED ESSAY- allows the student to
select any factual information that they think is
pertinent to organize their best judgment and to
integrate and evaluate ideas which they
think appropriate.
 PSYCHOLOGICAL TEST- aim to measure students’
intangible aspects of behavior, i.e. intelligence,
attitudes, interests, and aptitude.
 POWER TEST- deigned to measured level of
performance under sufficient time conditions, consists
of items arranged in order of increasing difficulty.
 SPEED TEST- designed to measure the number of
items an individual can complete in a give time,
consists of items approximately of the same level of
difficulty.

 A measure of central tendency is a numerical index
which typifies or best represents, the whole
distribution.
 The point on the scale around which scores tend to
group
 The number (resulting from computation) which
represents the average performance of a given group
of subjects in terms of certain attributes
 The most frequently encounter indices of the central
tendency are the mean, the median and the mode.
