Functional Organization

Organizational Structure
• It defines how activities such as task alocation,
coordination and supervision are directed toward the
achievement of organizational aims
• It also determines how information flows from level
to level within the company
• It depends on organization activities and strategy
• For example ,in a centralize structure decisions flow
from the top down,while in a decentralized
structure, the decision are made at various different
levels

Functional Organization
• It is a type of organizational structure that uses the
principle of specialization based on function or role
• It allows decision to be decentralized
• The concept of functional organization F.W. Taylor
who recommended the appointment of specialists at
important position.
• For example, the functional head and Marketing
Directors directs the subordinates throughout the
organization in his particular area
