Pharmaceutical form based on

oregano and chamomile

theoretical framework

• There have been many developments with respect to medicinal

herb research, and this field is expected to expand in the future.
Manzanilla is widely used throughout the world, and has anti-
inflammatory, deodorant, bacteriostatic, antimicrobial,
carminative, sedative, antiseptic, anticatarral and spasmolytic
properties. It occurs in fresh pastures, always with a certain
humidity, frequent in the North and western part of the Peninsula.
• Oregano is native to Europe, Asia and northern Africa. It lives in
warm, semi-warm, semi-dry, dry and temperate climate. It is
one of the best known culinary products herbs worldwide for
cooking, but it has antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic,
antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Essential oils are a
very heterogeneous group of complex mixtures of secondary
plant metabolites
Problem Statement

• Inflammation is a local reaction that occurs as a result of cell

damage, which occurs in 7 out of 10 people. It is the natural
response of the organism, which tries to restore normality in the
affected area
justification

• According to the ethnopharmacological field has been developed

studies of different antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agents
which have the ability to be used for treatment of skin infections
such as dermatitis or lacerations, which is why the need to make a
pharmaceutical form based of metabolites of medicinal plants
that work based on a topic.
• For this reason what is sought in this project is to check the anti-
inflammatory and antifungal action contained in the secondary
metabolites of both chamomile and oregano, thus giving rise to a
new pharmaceutical form containing the anti-inflammatory
properties they contain.
• Hipótesis

• The extract of oregano and chamomile will work as an

inflammatory, disinfectant and antiseptic agent for external use in
case of first degree lesions.
methodology
• The distillation with saturated steam was chosen, since in this one
the
• diffusion of the vapor through the plant membranes and the
• denaturation of the product by hydrolysis or burning. The first
step was to select the plant to be used and then begin the
extraction of the secondary metabolites. the ointment had to be
created first, then add the essential oils extracted from the plant.
