PURPOSE
• This development Project is embarking on a six months
programme to combat manpower issues the company
facing, with expansion of the Supermarket stores in Hot
food production & Bakery sector.
• The programme is aimed to develop the Knowledge &
skills of men and Women to be engaged in employment
within the company, to ease the company pressure on
human resources requirements.
Project Summary:
• Apprentice Cook/Baker, in the kitchen department of any hospitality
& catering sector, is a person who manufactures food to the
specified standard merely for customer satisfaction keeping in my
hygienic and safety standard determined by the enterprise.
• He/she is expected to adhere to the standards, maintain physical
fitness, be a sound communicator, be conversant in kitchen
functions, maintain good hygienic condition, be cost effective, be
creative in presentation and maintain the qualities all the time and
be responsible for customer satisfaction.
• At end of the programme He/she will be expected virtue of
theoretical and practical competency, to carry out several skilled
tasks, in various context, with minimum supervision as a role of a
Commis 111.

The process
• Registering with City and Guilds of (UK) with local agent on
qualification such as Certification 706/707.
• Join venture Institutes and Colleges overseas, Other Culinary
programmes which will be awarded by the College concern and
have an option to proceed further studies overseas, this must be
treated as a separate case and charge a nominal fee from the
candidate with the existing facility.
• The passed-out trainees more than required to be supplied to the
Leisure sector of the sister companies.
• Other courses can be conducted such as Food and Beverage Service,
Hospitality Business courses with minor upgrades to the existing
facilities.

• Due to the current trend in lack of quality recruits, this
programme will encourage the citizens to be engaged in
youthful employment.
