Ok… what is all of this for?!
In the exam you will be given a text with
10 gaps and to complete each gap
you’ll have a word… to be
transformed!!!!

So that you can play…

How do we do it????

First of all, read the WHOLE

text…
Don’t try to complete without reading…
How are you going to if you haven’t
read??????? Eh… you tell me!
Secondly,
Take just one minute to play with the
words given…

How many words do I know which are

connected to the word given?
For example…
You are given the word KNOW

Lets see… I know!

KOWN
KNOWLEDGE
UNKNOWN
KNOWLEDGEABLE

One of the words you’ve come up with will probably

fit the gap….
Then…

Look at the sentence and identify the

category of the words before and
after…
If the word following the gap is a NOUN,
you’ll probably need an ADJECTIVE

An example so that you don’t commit

suicide…

After the accident that left her blind

she developed an ………… sense of
hearing.
AMAZEMENT
Ok, more examples
coming…

If the word before the gap is a

VERB, you’ll probably need an
ADVERB.
I know… examples!

She was desperate to leave early so she

finished her work as …….. as she
could.
QUICK
Something important!
Adverbs don’t only describe the verb,
the way in which things are done, they
are also the ones to tell you about
ADJECTIVES…

I’ll give you an example…

The house Linda and Paul bought is
…………….. spacious, I don’t think
they need such a big house.
EXTREME
FINALLY,

Read the whole text again to

check it makes sense!
So…
Good luck…

And stop INVENTATING!!!!!!

Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
