INTRODUCTION
 In three phase application ,if low voltage available in
any one or two phases, and we want our equipment to
work on normal voltage, this circuit will solve our
problem .

 The circuit provides correct voltage in the same power

supply lines through relays from the other phase where
correct voltage is available.
COMPONENT REQUIRED
 Transformer (230v ac primary to 12-0-12, 500mA
secondary transformer.)
 Comparator(IC741)
 Transistor (BC557)
 Relay (12v SPDT)
 Diode (IN4007)
 Zener diodes(5.1v)
 Fuses

BRIEF IDEA ABOUT
COMPONENTS USED IN CIRCUIT
 TRANSFORMER
 Transformer is an ac machine that.

 Transformer electrical energy from one electrical circuit to

another .
 Does so without change of frequency.

 Does so by the principal of electromagnetic induction.

 It has electric cricuit which is linked by a common

magnetic circuit

COMPARATOR
 In electronics , a comparator is a device that compares
two voltages or currents and switches its outputs to
indicate which is larger.

 It is used in Analog-to-Digital converter(ADCs ).

TRANSISTOR
 A transistor is a semiconductor device use to amplify
and switch electronic signals.

 It is made of a solid piece of semiconductor material,

with at least three terminals for connection to an
external circuit.

 A voltage or current applied to one pair of the

transistor terminals changes the current following
through another pair of terminals.

RELAY
 A relay is an electrically operated switch.

 Relay are used where it is necessary to control a circuit

by a low power signal (with complete electrical
isolation between control and controlled circuit).

DIODE
 It is a two terminal semiconductor(rectifying) device
that exhibits a nonlinear current voltage
characteristic.

 The function of a diode is to allow the current in one

direction.

ZENER DIODE
 A zener diode is a type of diode that permits current
not only in the forward direction like a normal diode ,
but also in the reverse direction if the voltage is larger
than the breakdown voltage known as “Zener knee
voltage “ or “Zener voltage”.

FUSES
 In electronics and electrical engineering a fuse is a
type of sacrificial over current protection device .

 A fuse interrupts excessive current(blow) so that

further damage by overheating or fire is prevented

PRESET RESISTOR
 A preset is a three lagged electronic component which
can be made to offer varying resistance in a circuit .

 The resistance is varied by adjusting the rotary control

over it.

 The adjustment can be done by using a small screw

driver or a similar tool.

APPLICATIONS
 Indoor & outdoor Application.

 In industries where continuous supply is needed.

 Factories.

 Commercial offices.

 In Bank/ATMs for voltages change over.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT
 This cricuit automatically changes the phase when one or two
phases are lost in three phase supply .
 Therefore the cricuit is very useful in those industries ,factories ,
home spaces and offices where continuous supply of electricity is
needed.
 No need of human for change over the phase during phase loss
in incoming 3-phase supply.
 Therefore increase production in through providing continuous
supply.
