A. Skilled worker- must have a specific job skills, experience, and
obtain 67 points
B. Business immigrant- must show ability to make a economic
contribution to Canada – i.e. start a business and obtain 35
points

* Family Immigrant

* Main purpose to reunite families

* Must be sponsored by a close relative i.e. child, parents,


spouse who is already a citizen

* That person must prove they can support the immigrant

* Applies to “displaced people” from countries who have
been driven from their homes for political, cultural and
religious reasons or they may be in danger if forced to
return to their nation of origin
