• How BIM can make BPA easier?
• The information stored in the BIM Model plays a key role and
makes it special compared to conventional 2D or 3D
Orientation of the building is evaluated with sun path diagram which in turn
depends of the location of the building.
BIM will the precise coordinates of the building which makes it easier to
perform sun path analysis and hence evaluate various orientations and
architectural features such as shading devices of the building
All information required to calculate the cooling load or heating load is part of
the BIM model. This includes
– Orientation of the building
– Building envelope properties
– Occupancy details
Hence BIM tools like REVIT can be used instead is using separate tools like
HAP, Trace etc
•With BIM since the glazing properties and luminaire data is a part of the BIM
Model, it can be done using BIM Software such as REVIT
Shading Analysis
Given the HVAC performance details as BIM Model input in addition all the
inputs discussed before.
