 ABSTRACT
 This Paper Represent the Transformer Less
Grid-Connected Single Ended Primary
Inductance Converter(SEPIC) for
Photovoltaic Generation Systems . Where
Photovoltaic cells are made up of thin film
solar cell array & the material used for
Manufacturing solar cells are Polycrystalline
Si & Mono Crystalline Si. These Materials
Enhance the Potential to Generate the
Electric Power for Longer time.
 INTRODUCTION
 Due to Constantly Growing Energy Demand, Grid-
Connected PV Systems are Becoming more and
more Popular, Many countries are Enhancing this
technology in order to meet the Energy Demand.
 Since, Current Solar Panels are not much efficient. It
has only about 12-20% Capability to Convert
sunlight to Electrical power.
 But, In order to increase the panel efficiency it
must be operate at its optimal power point.
 Here Single Ended Primary Inductance
Converter(SEPIC) is used ,In order to achieve
Maximum Power Point.
 PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
 The System which is used to convert the sunlight
to electrical power known as photovoltaic system.
 It works based on photovoltaic effect.
 The photovoltaic cells are made up of thin film
solar cell array.
 The materials used for manufacturing solar cells
are polycrystalline Si and mono crystalline Si.
 But solar panels have only 12-20% efficiency to
convert directly sunlight to electrical power.
 There are two type of PV system.
 Stand alone system
 Grid-Connected system.
 DC-DC CONVERTER
 DC-DC Converters are electronic devices which are
used to change the dc voltage from one level to
another level.
 Since, it changes dc voltages from one level to
another level hence it is also known as dc
transformer.
 DC-DC converters are non-liner in nature.
 These converters are mostly used in portable
electronic devices such as cellular phones, laptops &
computers.
 There are many types of converters but here dc-dc
converters are classified into two part.
 Non-isolated converter
 Isolated converter.
 NON-ISOLATED CONVERTER
 It is sub-classified into three parts.
 1) Buck converter
 2) Boost converter
 3) Buck-Boost converter

 ISOLATED CONVERTER
 It is also sub-classified into two parts.
 1)Fly back converter
 2)Forward type converter
 SEPIC CONVERTER
 SEPIC converter is also one type of dc-dc
converter.
 It is an electronic device which is used to
change the output voltage grater than or less
than the input voltage.
 It is controlled by duty cycle control method.
 By increasing the duty cycle output voltage
can be controlled.
 SEPIC is similar to buck-boost converter.
 But main advantage of SEPIC is non-inverted
output voltage(the output voltage is of same
polarity as input voltage).
 BLOCK DIAGRAM
ADVANAGE
 It is clean in nature.
 It directly convert sunlight to
electrical power.
 Losses are very less.
 It can be installed anywhere.
 Maintenance and running cost is less.
 It is reliable.
 DISADVANTAGE

 The efficiency of PV cell to convert

sunlight to electrical power is only 12% to
20%.
 Installation cost of PV system is high.
 The fabrication of PV cell required high
skilled person.
 Its depend on atmospheric condition.
 CONCLUSION
 In this paper two new topologies of non-isolated
high static gain converters are presented.
 The first topology without magnetic coupling can
operate with a static gain higher than 10 with
reduced switch voltage.
 The second one with magnetic coupling can
operate with a static gain higher than the 20 with
low switch voltage.
 The commutation losses of proposed converter
with magnetic coupling are reduced due to
presence of transformer leakage inductance &
secondary voltage multiplier.
