RESPONSIBLE CARE®?

It is an initiative of the global chemical industry in which


companies, through their national associations (ICC in India),
commit to work together to continuously improve:

- the health and safety of their workers

- their environmental performance

- their communication with stakeholders

HISTORY & RESPONSIBLE

• Started in Canada in 1984

• Was launched in India in 2003, after being a global


initiative taken by ICCA

• Has 125 signatory members plus 40 enlightened industry


holding the RC logo in India

• The initiative is essential in the reduction and elimination


of risk and to the implementation of sustainable
development

1. Product stewardship code;
2. Process safety code;
3. Employee health & safety code;
4. Pollution prevention code;

ICC is scheduled to include 'Security‘ as a 7th Code by the
end of 2018.

standards applicable to:

Companies must do self assessments and submit questionnaires dealing with


the Management Practice Standards to ICC

Quantitative Indicators of Performance are used to measure, monitor


and report on performance

3RD PARTY

Responsible Care® signatories must undergo


a third party verification audit every three
years after signing the Responsible Care®
