Smoking Habit

Mr. Agus, 45 years escorted by his wife to the


doctor as often complained of coughing and
shortness of breath. His wife told that her
husband had become active smoker for 15 years.
In one day her husband was able to spend two to
three packs of cigarettes. She was afraid if the
smoke affects the health of her family. His wife
was also asked for help from the doctor to stop
smoking husband.

The Legal Basis

1. UU RI No. 32 Year 2010 about Smoking Ban


Consists of six chapters that explain the notion of
smoke up to the amount of fines.

2. Local Regulations Semarang No. 3 Year 2013


Consist of 35 chapters.
The Role of Family Doctor

1. Promotive
An efforts to improve public health.
example : provides an extension to the wider
community.
2. Preventive
An efforts to prevent anything untoward to a patient.
example : providing advice and early detection to a
patient.
3. Kurative
An efforts to care for and treat patients.
Example : support patients who want to quit
smoking and treat them when exposed the effect of
smoking.
4. Rehabilitative
An attempts to reverse or restore the health of the
community.
example : replace cigarettes with something else,
like a candy.
Islamic Views

And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw


[yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by
refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers
of good. (Q.S. Al-Baqarah : 195)






Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever


has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. (Q.S. Al-Isra :
27)

And do not kill yourselves. (Q.S. An-Nisa : 29)
