HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.

1.Overview
ATN910i is a product which we use it as a Layer2 LAN switch in our 4G3 project, in order to
aggregate all technology of 2G/3G/4G due to the port limitation of RTN310/RTN380.
ATN910I Overview ETH/OAM port is used for commissioning
*We will use LAN cable and SSH login , hyper
terminal software like SecureCRT or Putty
must be available on your laptop

The 12 service ports from left to right will be defined as :

GigabitEthernet0/2/0 (SFP, for RTN310/380)

Power on the ATN
The PWR will be lighted. The STAT will be blinking.

After 3-5 minutes, the STAT will be lighted permanently also.

And ALM will be orange as there is some initial alarm. (not affecting)

5. Connect Laptop to ATN
The default IP of ATN is 129.0.0.1, so we need to configure our Laptop IP in the same segment.
Configure the IP of Laptop, the IP Connect laptop to ATN ETH/OAM make ping test, ping 129.0.0.1 to
must be 129.0.0.xxx (xxx for any port with normal LAN cable see whether the connection is OK
digit btw 2~254)

6.Port Definition
We will use SSH login the ATN for commissioning.
Below shows the port definition In the SSH. Please note it in order you know which port you
should make the configuration

GigabitEthernet0/2/0 GigabitEthernet0/2/11, for 4G-FDD

GigabitEthernet0/2/1 GigabitEthernet0/2/10,for 4G-TDD
GigabitEthernet0/2/2 GigabitEthernet0/2/9,for 3G

7.Login
The default IP of the ATN is 129.0.0.1; please configure the IP of your laptop as 129.0.0.xxx.(xxx
for any digit between 2~254)
Powering on the ATN , it will take 3-5 minutes for the system booting. It is suggested not to
connect the cable btw ATN and laptop during this time.
After the booting , connect the ETH/OAM port to your laptop with lan cable. Ping 129.0.0.1 to
check whether the connection is OK.
Use any hyper terminal software to login the ATN, here we use PuTTy as an example, it can be
easily got from internet. And one software is attached below.
Open the Putty, choose connection type as SSH; IP address as 129.0.0.1;
Port as 22; Click Open then login;
The default user name is root, password is Changeme_123. You will be asked whether to change
the password, lets change the password same as Huawei_123 in order that other engineers can
login next time.

PuTTy softwareis attached here:

7.Login
The Putty configruation. Default user name is root, password is Changme_123
You will be requested to change the password, input y to
change it or n not to change it
Once login, we will come to command prompt after <HUAWEI>

Then click open

Here Huawei is the default NE name

8.Change the NE name
1. Input system-view to enter system view
2. Input sysname xxxx to change the NE name
Note: in order to make configuration, you need
to enter system view first

Once enter the system view ,the bracket NE Name changed successful
becomes [ ]

9.Disable ATN DCN
As ATN DCN function is enabled by default , and the VLAN ID is 4094
conflict with RTN default DCN VLAN ID.
Disable the ATN DCN by undo dcn commond under system view.

Command Lines:
<ZBR058_ATN_NE1> sys #To enter system view
[ZBR058_ATN_NE1] undo dcn #To disable dcn
Y #To confirm the configuration

10. Configure Interface and VLAN on Trunk Ports

As packets from BTS/NodeB includes VLAN ID, all the ATN Site ID
VLAN ID
VLAN ID (3G) VLAN ID (4G) VLAN ID (OaM)
(2G)
ports should configured as Trunk to pass through those
ZBR058 1322 1323 1324 1325
VLAN IDs.
Use the VLAN design according to the right side table.

Note: configuration should be done in system view. Below printscreen already

under system view. If still not ,please use system-view command to enter

11. Configure Interface and VLAN on Trunk Ports
For 1+0 link, ATN configuration:

Trunk port means the port which can allow more than 1 VLAN ID;
All ATN ports should be configured as TRUNK;
Configure the interface0/2/10 for Trunk as below (for example):

Command Lines:
interface Gigabit Ethernet 0/2/X #To enter the required port
Undo shutdown #To enable this port
Portswitch #To configure this port as layer2
port link-type trunk #To configure this port as trunk
Port trunk allow-pass vlan xxxx xxxx #Configure the vlans which
need be allowed on this port ,
separate different vlans by space.

12. Eth-Trunk Configuration for XPIC Link
For XPIC link, two RTN310 will be used on each site for two different polarizations;
Each RTN310 will use GE optical cable to connect with ATN910i;
The two GE optical ports on ATN910i should be configured as ETH-TRUNK to support RTN310 protection.
Eth-trunk mode should be static, and the two ports worked as port-standby (Non load-balance).

ATN configuration scripts: (Both site configuration scripts are similar)
# Eth-trunk Basic Configuration:

13. ATN NMS Configuration
ATN will use separate VLAN ID and IP address to communicate with U2000 (IP);
Ethernet sub-interface should be configured for ATN NMS.

1. Single GE port(for example: GE 0/2/4) is used for uplink:

# Create Eth-trunk sub-interface for ATN NMS

[ATNA] interface GigabitEthernet0/2/4.1 # Create eth-trunk sub-interface: eth-trunk 1.1
[ATNA-GigabitEthernet0/2/4.1] vlan-type dot1q 4000 # Configure ATN NMS VLAN ID according design
[AATNA-GigabitEthernet0/2/4.1] ip address 10.100.1.15 24 # Configure ATN NMS ip address and subnet according design
[ATNA-GigabitEthernet0/2/4.1]quit

2. Two GE ports(for example: Eth-trunk 1) are used for uplink:

# Create Eth-trunk sub-interface for ATN NMS
[ATNA] interface eth-trunk 1.1 # Create eth-trunk sub-interface: eth-trunk 1.1
[ATNA-Eth-Trunk1.1] vlan-type dot1q 4000 # Configure ATN NMS VLAN ID according design
[ATNA-Eth-Trunk1.1] ip address 10.100.1.15 24 # Configure ATN NMS ip address and subnet according design
[ATNA-Eth-Trunk1.1]quit

12.Save the configuration
After the configuration done, please save it in the system in order configuration can be
recovered after power reset.

To run this save command , you should under the <HUAWEI> view, if your are under system-view
[HUAWEI] , please use quit command quit system-view.

Quit #make sure you are under <NENAME> view

Save #To save
Y #Confirm to save
when run the save command first time ,you will be request to input
the file name , just input the name which given out

12.Additional : CWO test via ATN910I
If MW link already OK , also configured and CWO is ready, we can do CWO test via ATN910.

Fiber already connected between MW and ATN.

As 0/2/8 and 0/2/9 configured as access, you can just connect the lap top to this 2 ports to
do CWO test for 2G and 3G.

0/2/10 is configured as trunk, the message come to these ports must be tagged with vlan.
So If your laptop is vlan-supported, you can just configure the required vlan to your lanport,
and do the CWO test for 4G.

If your laptop is not vlan-supported, you can configure the 0/2/11(last one) which is spared
as access , and assign the 4G vlan on it to do CWO test.
