trauma care services
An exclusive ward is dedicated to Trauma and is
maintained by the nursing professionals, to monitor the
patient
It is sufficiently equipped with critical care equipment

Reception and Resuscitation
Nurses are well trained to manage / monitor the
patients at ICU of all sections

When the patient enters casualty, they would be


triaged by the nurse, according to the A,B,C,D & E.
The Primary Survey
Airway
Breathing
Circulation
Disability or Neurological Damage
Expose the patient
Nurses to patient ratio (as per INC Norms) is at 1:3 for
general and surgical patients and 1:1 for critical
patients and 2:1 for Resuscitation
Reception and Resuscitation

Vitals would be recorded by the Nurse which


includes
Pulse Rate
Blood Pressure
Respiratory Rate
SpO2 %
Temperature
AVPU Alert, Verbal, Pain and
Unresponsiveness
Urine Output

Nurses plays a major role in assisting doctors with


intubation, resuscitation, ventilator care and interventional
procedures
Nurses Responsibilities
1. TRAUMA ICU
Continuous monitoring of the patient
Assess and monitor the patient conditions
Intervene with immediate needed attention
Provide emotional support to the patients and their
families
Provide guidance

2. ORTHO ICU
Providing care for patients, suffering through bone
fractures, muscular skeletal deformities and spine
injuries
Monitor neuro vascular status
Performing external fixation care
Administration and monitoring medication
Post operative care
Aiding patients with therapy for faster recovery
Manage patients hygiene by assisting through personal
care
Wound dressing
Nurses Responsibilities
3. CARDIAC ICU
Patient with chest injury and rib fracture are monitored
closely by assessing,
Breathing
SPO2 monitoring and other vitals
Assisting with chest tube insertion
Vitals chart and intake Output chart

4. Register Maintenance and Documentation
