EDUCATION AND SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
As of July 1, 2017 when the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA)
came into force, you will not need significant additional training,
experience, testing or assessment if your qualifications or certificates are
recognized by a Canadian regulatory authority. This applies whether you
were trained in Canada or internationally.

Completion of secondary school is usually required. Other requirements


may include:

strong math skills


completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program (or a
completion of a college or other program for bakers)
on-the-job training, which may be provided
voluntary trade certification, available through the Industry Training
Authority
Interprovincial Standards Red Seal certification, which is available to
qualified bakers through the Industry Training Authority
