What is 3D Printing?

3D printing or Additive manufacturing is a

process of making a three-dimensional solid object of
virtually any shape from a digital model. 3D printing
is achieved using a process, where successive layers
of the material are laid down consecutively to obtain
different shapes.

ARDUINO
Arduino is an open source project that created
microcontroller-based kits for building digital devices and
interactive objects that can sense and control physical
devices.
It provides a set of digital and analog input/output(I/O) pins
that can interface to various expansion boards (termed
shields) and other circuits.
For programming the microcontrollers, the Arduino project
provides an integrated development environment (IDE)
based on a programming language named processing,
which also supports the languages C and C++.
ARDUINO MEGA 2560
The Arduino Mega 2560 is a microcontroller board based on the
ATmega2560 (datasheet).
It has 54 digital input/output pins (of which 14 can be used as
PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports),
a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, power jack, an ICSP
header, and a reset button.
WORKING
PROBLEMS WITH 3D PRINTER
There are a few problems associated with 3D Printer, like
overheating of extruder or printer bed.
The filament gets stuck up in the extruder during its end
and that interrupts the printing. The belt slips sometimes
while printing.
An example of a fail 3D print due to temperature
differences & other factors.
CONCEPT OF IOT WITH 3D PRINTER
To start with, the operation of 3D Printer must be independent of any computer or
an SD card which involves multiple copy pastes. A simple click over internet from
anywhere with internet access must start the process of printing.
A person shouldnt always be present there for monitoring the temperature ,
amount of filament ,etc.
Sensors like weighing sensor and temperature sensor will give information over
cloud about the 3D printer.
Live access of the process of printing will be shown to the user.
The Smart 3D printer will give alerts to the users about completion of print,
amount of filament left, temperature of the extruder and print bed.
Just incase some problem occurs, the print is paused .

Conclusion
Nothing communicates ideas faster than a three-
dimensional part or model. With a 3D printer you
can bring CAD files and design ideas to life right
from your desktop.
