 PENDAHULUAN
Apakah yang dimaksud dengan batuan reservoir?

Batuan Reservoir adalah batuan yang porous (storativity) dan

permeable (productivity) yang menjadi tempat terakumulasinya
fluida hidrokarbon (minyak dan/atau gas) dan air di bawah
permukaan tanah yang memiliki satu sistem tekanan tertentu.

A porous and permeable underground formation containing an

individual and separate natural accumulation of producible
hydrocarbons (oil and/or gas) which is confined by impermeable
rock or water barriers and is characterized by a single natural
pressure system. (Oil Gas Glossary)

 PENDAHULUAN
Kenapa mempelajari teknik reservoir?
Tujuan dari mempelajari teknik reservoir dimulai dari dengan penemuan
reservoir produktif, agar dapat membuat proyek pengembangan lapangan
migas sebagai upaya mengoptimalkan penemuan (produksi) hidrokarbon
sebagai bagian dari kebijakan ekonomi. Seorang reservoir engineer harus
mempelajari reservoir secara berkelanjutan sepanjang kehidupan lapangan
migas terkait untuk optimalisasi produksi.
The goal or reservoir engineering, starting with the discovery of productive reservoir, is to set up a
development project that attempts to optimize the hydrocarbon recovery as part of an overall economic
policy. Reservoir specialists thus continue to study the reservoir throughout the life of the field to derive the
information required for optimal production of the reservoir. (R. Cosse, 1993)
