Building Formations
Y: Y receiver always sets the strength of the formation. RT/LT call will direct where this player
goes. Base alignment is on the ball, alerts outside WR if they are the Z or X
Z/X: Outside WR does not switch sides (unless directed by coach) All X/Z receivers will learn both
routes. WR to the strength = Z, the X is always away from the strength.
F: Inside WR, this is the WR that builds the formation (2x2 or 3x1)
Slot Formations: Z aligns on the weak side of the formation creating a slot look. F to strong side
uses F words. FLEX/FLANK
