INTRODUCTION
While moving the vehicles posses some kinematic
energy and it is wasted. This kinematic energy can
be utilized to produce power by using a special
arrangement called POWER HUMP.
Power hump is device which can utilize both
mechanical technologies and electrical techniques
for the power generation and its storage.
Whenever the vehicle is allowed to pass over the
dome it gets pressed downwards then the spring are
attached to the dome is compressed and the rack
which is attached to the bottom of the dome moves
downwards in in reciprocating motion. 2
Since the rack has teeth connected to gears, there
exist conversion of reciprocating motion of rack into
rotary motion of gears but two gears rotate in
opposite direction .
A fly wheel is mounted on the shaft whose function
is to regulate the fluctuation in the energy and to
make the energy uniform.
So that the shaft will rotate with R.P.M. These
shafts are connected through belt drive to the
dynamos, which converts the mechanical energy
into electrical energy.

PROBLEM FORMULATION
Energy is the important input in all the sectors of
any countries economy.
India is the country, which majorly suffers with
lack of sufficient power generation.
Just because of the low amount of electricity
availability we have to go with the renewable
source.
Renewable sources are the sources with which we
can produce electricity without using any
commercial fossil fuels, which is not producing
any harmful products.
4
There are already is existing such system using
renewable energy such as solar wind ,ocean
thermal energy conversion etc... for power
generation .
The latest technology which is used to generate
the power by such renewable energy POWER
HUMP.

WORKING PROCEDURE
Here the reciprocating motion of the speed breaker
is converted into rotary motion using the rack
pinion arrangement.
Rack and pinion gears normally change rotary
motion into linear motion, but sometimes we use
them to change linear motion into rotary motion.
The axis of the pinion is coupled with the sprocket
arrangement.
The axis of the sprocket is coupled with the
dynamo.
Finally the dynamo is coupled with the battery.

With the help of battery we can light a bulb.
