Feeding fish is very easy now.

Need

To design a product which helps to put required

amount of fish feeds into an aquarium without much
human effort

Functions
The feeder help us to feed without
opening the lid of fish tank
A required amount of feed can be put
into the fish tank.
User can control the device without
opening the lid of fish tank
The device should not take a lot of
space inside the fish tank
Maintenance (refilling feeds) must be
easy

The device must be placed inside the fish
tank.
It should contain a controller mechanism
which help user to put the amount of
feed he deserves.
A switch must be placed outside the fish
tank in order to control the feeder from
outside
The design of the device must be so
compact.
Assemblying of device must be so simple.
Constraints

The device should function effectively.

It should be of low cost.
It must not damage the fish feed or do any harm to fish.
The materials used must not be harmful to environment.
All materials should be recyclable.
Maintenance must be of low cost and easy.
Installation of the device must must be simple
It should be user friendly
Form

The design of the product must be so compact that it must not use
a lot of space inside the fish tank.
The product must hold a certain amount of feed inside it.
The design must be simple so that easy maintenance like refilling
the feeder can be done very easily.
Market Survey

At present automatic feeders with timers are available but it

cannot be set to put the desired amount of food as we wish.
So making feeding automatic causes over feeding or less feeding.
The existing feeders min cost is above 1500. Its unbearable for
local people who owns fish tanks.
Electricity is needed for existing feeders, so power consuming and
power fluctuations causes damages.
Ideation

The products max cost is less than 50/-

The materials used must be recyclable so preferably recyclable
plastic is used for making the outer case.
For the feeding mechanism , effect of vibration can be used as a
simple solution. So a small motor found in toy cars can be used.
For controlling it from the outside a switch is pressing switch can
be used.
A suitable compact design for concording all the above
meachanisms

Explanation

The feed will fall onto the fish tank until the motor works, i.e. the
user controls the falling of feeds.
The product must be refilled according to our use.
The materials used are recyclable.
Since no much electrical equipments are used, 95% sure of no
damage due to manufacturing defect.
The product is of cheap rate and of low cost of below 50.
