 Modifier Definition:

A modifier is a word or a group of words

that gives additional info about some other
word or some other group of words.
Example:
She is a cute baby.
In this sentence, cute is
an adjective modifying the noun, baby.
The adjective cute is a modifier. Cute
modifies the type of baby.
 Misplaced Modifier:

A misplaced modifiers is a word or a group of

words which is wrongly placed to a noun or an
identity.

Example:

David bought a used car from a local dealer with

a smoky tailpipe.

David bought a used car with a smoky tailpipe

from a local dealer.
 DANGLING MODIFIER:

Dangling modifier is a group of

words which is hanging without the
support of its subject.
Example:

Sitting in the dentists chair, the

sound of the drill made john sweat.

Sitting in the dentists chair,john

sweated at the sound of the drill.
 RUN ON SENTENCES:

A run on sentences in
which two or more
independent clauses are
connected improperly.

Examples
I knocked on the door it
opened.
It started raining we ran
inside.

Sentences Correction

e.g He saw the doctor , meaning some
particular doctor.
 Definite Articles
Before some proper names(e.g
place, certain books, things) that
are unique in their kind.
Examples
Oceans and seas for e.g. The
pacific or The black sea
The Holy Quran, or The ocean,
The sky etc.
With Musical instruments,
ordinals and superlatives. For E.g
He can ply the flute.
He was the first man to arrive.
Army Training is the toughest job.
