 The WORLD takes us to a silver
screen on which flickering images
of PASSION and ROMANCE play.
The world says THIS IS LOVE.

GOD takes us to the foot of a tree

on which a NAKED and
BLOODIED man hangs and says,
THIS IS LOVE.
Painful words = wounded/scarred emotions
 Love is not for the fulfillment of self but
foe the good of others & the glory of GOD.
TRUE LOVE is SELFLESS.
It gives; it sacrifices; it dies to its own
needs.
Greater love has no one than
this, that he lay down his life
for his friends.
ANGER is when your mouth
works faster than your brain.
 When you are in a
relationship, the things that
you will only do when youre
together are the things that
you can do in front of your
parents.
 MARRIAGE is a
lifeloooooooooooooooong
COMMITMENT.
PERSEVERANCE Dont quit
before the BLESSING.
 The deep pain from failed/broken
relationships can make us doubt our
value.
We begin to see ourselves as
DISPOSABLE. Easily replaced. Not
good enough.
No man will ever want me. I will never
be good enough.
 Since you are precious and honored in my
sight, and because I LOVE YOU, I will give
men in exchange for you, and people in
exchange for your life.

God, you Maker is your Husband &

Redeemer the One who bestows the
HONOR & ACCEPTANCE that you long for.
 True Love is not measured or governed by
feeling. Jesus Christ went to the cross when
every emotion & instinct in his body told
him to turn back. Have you ever read the
account of Jesus praying in the garden of
Gethsemane? He clearly didnt FEEL like
enduring the beatings, hanging on the cross,
& giving up his life. But he laid his feelings
before the Father, giving himself over to the
Fathers will. Jesus feelings were not the
test of his love, nor were they his master.
 Christ wants us to have this same attitude.
He did not say, If you love me, you will feel
warm, cascading sensations of religious
emotions.
Instead He told us, If you love me, you will
obey what I command. (John 14:15)

TRUE LOVE always expresses itself in

OBEDIENCE to GOD & service to others.

Good feelings are nice but not NECESSARY.
