2.1 SUBSYSYSTEM Definition
Precommissioning & Commissioning shall be organized by Sub-Systems,

when Construction is working by trades, Areas and Units
An OPERCOM SubSystem is a subdivision of the installation that performs

a given operational function with no or little interference from the other
parts of the plant.
The preliminary SubSystem breakdown is done during the Basic Engineering.

It is finalized right at the beginning of the detailed engineering,
before any process engineering activities.
It is built in parallel with the Start-Up Sequence.

3.2 OERCOM Terminology
ITEM : Smallest piece of equipment requiring one precommissioning task.
ITEMPACK : Group of ITEMS subject to a specific precommissioning

BASIC FUNCTION (BF) :

Smallest equipment subject to a commissioning task.
A BF is a group of ITEMS that performs an elementary function of the plant.

Ex : Switchboard, transfoemer, heater, process control loop, pump, vessel,.

compliance with drawings/specifications, vendor instructions, safety rules
standards and good practice.

-. Piping Tasks(PIP) :
Cleaning, gross air leak and pressure testing.
A Ready-For-Commissioning Certificate(RFCC) :
is issued at the end of precommissioning for each SubSystem.
