Grading 1
- suitable for sub-base coarse & for thickness > 90 mm.
Screenings
Screenings are used for filling the voids between coarse
aggregates.

Kanker nodules not rounded, LL< 20, PL< 6, only 10% pass

Screenings need not to be used when crushable aggregate is
used.
Binding Materials
These materials prevent disturbance of the macadam.

Fine grained material with plasticity index of 4-9 when used as


surfacing coarse.

Lime dust or kankar nodules if available.

Binder materials need not to be used when crushable type of material is


used as coarse aggregates.
