influence on the social behavior of
people; For this reason films are
considered to be very effective
models that affect individual
behaviors; It is for this reason that
the films are subjected to an
analysis previous to their exhibition.

different ways with some
letter, number or
something like this, to
determine the minimum
age of the audience.
American Film
Classification
The classification of a film is
decided by the Motion Picture
Association of America (MPAA)
for the North American films.
The association consists of 13
parents who watch each movie
and agree on a rating. It is not a
dependency of government, no

In the United States the films
can be classified:
G - For all ages
PG - Some scenes may not be
suitable for children so it is
suggested that parents talk to
and guide their children.
PG 13 - Some scenes may not be
suitable for children under 13

R - Entry restricted. Under 17 years
must be accompanied by a parent,
adult or guardian to enter the room.
NC-17 - Entry restricted to children
under 18 years (still accompanied by
an adult).

AA - "Comprehensible for children under 7

A - "For all the public". It indicates that it is a

seen by children under 12 years.
B - "For adolescents ages 12 and over."
Indicates that it is a film suitable for those
