Consonant sounds

How do we articulate
sounds?
We look into each consonant sound according
to three criteria:

Place of articulation: the parts


involved.
Manner of articulation: how the air is
released.
Voice: voiced or voiceless?
/p/ vs /b/ -- /t/ vs /d/ -- /k/ vs
/g/
To produce these sounds at the beginning of a word,
you need to block completely the flow of air with
your articulators, and then release the air suddenly.
