Where Its Happening
The worlds highest rates of deforestation a significant cause of global warming are happening in the key
emerging economies of Nigeria, Indonesia, and Brazil. Approximately 3 billion to 6 billion trees are cut
down every year, this induces our oxygen level which cut down on our resources and air. In Nigeria alone
between 2000 and 2005 the country lost 55.7% of its primary forests. This just shows how deforestation
is not just something that is only gonna happen in the future but is gonna affect us now and the future if
we do not stop it. To add on in countries like Indonesia and Brazil billions of trees get cut down to in 2012,
Indonesia lost 840,000 hectares of forest while Brazil lost 460,000 hectares. This happens not only in
rainforests, it happens globally. It happens all over the world, whenever someone thinks they can make a
fortune out of it.
How Its Affect Us
Deforestation not only affects the environment, it affects us humans and animals
as well. We breathe the air that trees give off. The more trees we cut, the more
years of our life were cutting off. Are our lives really worth selling a couple of tree
made products? Were getting rid of our own source to live. The most dramatic
impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species. Eighty percent of Earth's land
animals and plants live in forests, and many cannot survive the deforestation that
destroys their homes. Deforestation is the clearing of trees, but in reality, its
clearing out all of us.It has been predicted that within the next 25-30 years, most of
the humid tropical forest as we know it, will be transformed into unproductive land.
Putting An End To Deforestation
Ending deforestation is not as complex as you think. Some simple things you can do is start by using less
paper. One tree makes 16.67 reams of copy paper, or 8,333.3 sheets. So using every 5 or 6 less reams of
papers can do a lot for the trees. The amount of trees cut down can easily be solved with using less
new paper and using recycled ones, it will not only help the environment but it will also help us in many
ways. Another reason how we can help prevent deforestation is when shopping try to avoid products that
include palm oil.Palm oil is used in various products including; lipstick, pizza dough, shampoo,
chocolate. It has been proven that 50 percent of the items you see contain palm oil. So if we can bring this
percentage down to atleast 20% we can see a change in the amount of trees we are saving. You can also
reduce deforestation by planting your own tree which can help to. Also using less firewood. There are
many ways to reduce tree consumtion you just need to find them.
Facts You Didnt Know
The average person in the United States at the end of the last decade
consumed as much paper as 6 people combined in Asia or more than 30
people in Africa

The U.S. uses approximately 68 million trees each year to produce paper and
paper products

It is estimated that within 100 years there will be no rainforests

One and a half acres of forest is cut down every second

Deforestation risks the lives of humans and animals. Really any organism that
takes in oxygen

Three hundred million people worldwide live in forests and 1.6 billion depend on

Deforestation In The Amazon
Since the years of 1978 over 750,000 square kilometers, which is 289,000 square
miles of Amazon rainforest have been demolished across Brazil, Peru, Colombia,
Bolivia, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana

But in the later part of the 20th century, that began to change, with an increasing
proportion of deforestation driven by industrial activities and large-scale
agriculture.

By the time it is in the 2000 more than three-quarters of forest clearing in the
Amazon was for cattle-ranching.
