-The Prime Minister is elected indirectly by the Parliament, while the


President is elected directly by U.S citizens.

-The prime minister can be leader as long as they want with an


election held at least five years.

-The term length for a U.S president is 4 years per term and can be
elected into office twice.

-The House of Parliament is the UKs lawmaking body

-The United States lawmaking body is congress

-The United Kingdom is bicameral as well as the United States

-There are 535 members in congress

-There are two separate house in the UK, 800 lords and 650 commons
Rights

-Both countries have freedom of speech/press

-Both have the freedom of religion

-In the United States you have the right to bear arms, in the UK you do
not have that right

-In both countries citizens are protected from cruel and excessive
punishments
Political Parties

-The U.S is split into two party systems

-The Symbol for the democratic side is a donkey, while the republicans
symbol is an elephant

-The U.K is split up into two parties as well, the Labour Party and the
Conservative Party

-A red rose represents the Labour Party and the scribbled oak tree
stands for the Conservative Party
Voting

-Both in the United States and the United Kingdomcitizens can vote at
age 18, however some people in the UK have voted at age 16.

-In the US we vote every four years while the UK votes every five

-The US holds both primary and general elections

-The UK holds only general elections

-Both countries have annual income tax

-The UK makes alot of their money from tourism

-The US makes money from sales tax and corporate income tax

-The UK spends about 45.6 billion on defense, 85.2 on education, and


142.7 on healthcare

The United States relationship with The
United Kingdom
-Since 1940 the two have been strong war allies.

-They are bound together by shared history, religion, and a common


language. Their legal system and kinship ties that reach back hundreds
of years.

-Today, the UK holds a strong relationship with the US as its most


important bilateral partnership.

-The US and the UK make up most of the world trade activity.
