INTRODUCTION
Childbirth at gestational age < 37weeks (259 days) from
the first day of last menstruation.
Major cause of morbidity and mortality in perinatal
Born prematurely risk of neurological developmental
disorders
About one fifth of babies born < 32 weeks of age cannot
survive the first year ,1% of deaths born at the age of 33 -
36 weeks and 0.3% of infant deaths at sufficient months.

In developing countries India (30%), South Africa (15%),
Sudan(31%) and Malaysia (10%).
Indonesia ranks 5th highest preterm birth in the world after India,
China, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

GOAL
Knowledge of risk factors predicting the incidence of
preterm birth reduce the incidence of preterm birth.
This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with
preterm births at the Hasan Sadikin General Hospital in
2015.
Hidayat, Z.Z,et al. Risk Factors Associated with Preterm Birth at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital in 2015. 2016, 6, 798-806
METHOD
Cross sectional analitics (chi square bivariate &
multivariate logistic regression)
Instrument medical records of patients in Maternal
Perinatal Registration Indonesia (MPRI), Department of
Obstetrics and Gynecology Hasan Sadikin General
Hospital in 2015.
May to June 2016 .
Samples 1944.
Hidayat, Z.Z,et al. Risk Factors Associated with Preterm Birth at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital in 2015. 2016, 6, 798-806
METHOD
Dependent variable preterm birth.
Independent variables age, education, parity, HT, anemia,
preterm birth history, history of abortion, antepartum
hemorrhage, premature rupture of membranes (PROM),
ANC,& pregnancy interval.
Variable has a value of p < 0.05 included in the multivariate
logistic regression analysis

DISCUSSION
The results of this study indicate that
1. Maternal age factor has a significant relationship to preterm
birth.
2. Antenatal care variables showed significant results.
3. The history of premature birth is significantly associated with
the incidence of preterm birth and as a risk factor.
4. Anemia has a significant relationship with the occurrence of
preterm birth as a risk factor.
5. Hypertension showed a significant result with the incidence
of preterm birth as a risk factor
6. Antepartum hemorrhage also had a significant relationship
with the occurrence of preterm birth as a risk factor with OR
= 6.835

DISCUSSION
This research conclusion is not significant to the parity
factor
1. Multipara is a risk factor for preterm birth (OR = 3.28)
2. Preterm births with the spacing pregnancies
3. Premature rupture of membranes (PROM)
4. Educational level of maternity patients
5. History of abortion
