The expansion of renewable energies and secure supply of electric power are today's
topics of the future. Today (2010) 19% of the net energy demand is already covered by
sources of renewable energy. According to a survey carried out by Fraunhofer IWES, this
share will grow to 45% by 2020.
Graduates of the bachelor's degree program Electrical Engineering Power Engineering
and Renewable Energy have excellent job prospects in both the classical field of work
(with energy providers/public utility companies/industrial power suppliers) and the
environmental work area (according to VDI study, up to 1 million workplaces in Germany
by 2020).
