HADCO was started by Mr. Vincent David in June of 1987 to meet a specific
demand of the Agro-industry (chicken, pork). He bought a piece of land on

HADCO falls under the Agro-industry. The venture belongs to the primary level of

The company was established in June of 1987 and have become one of Guyana main
producers of meat and eggs. HADCO has a number of products such as; chicken, pork,
beef, duck and eggs.
The agro-industry is one of perfect competition meaning that they are many firms operating
in the industry, firms are price takers, there is ease of entry and exit and buyers have
complete information of the product being sold. The main competition that the company
face is Bounty Farms Ltd due to the fact that they produce relatively the same product.

The business venture was started in 1987
Another key historical event in the existence of HADCO was during October of 1996, where there
was a viral attack on the livestock which caused the company to lose its entire inventory. At the time,
HADCO did not have adequate insurance to cover such losses, resulting in the temporary closure of
the Farms operation. However, arrangements were made to obtain insurance after the company
acquired a loan to continue production after the viral attack.
The company is also first in Guyana to import a sprinkler systems and automated machinery in the
late 1990s. These improvements facilitated the improvement of the production process and the quality
of the products being produced.
In the early 2000s the company had expanded their reach by creating a
website due to the introduction of the internet. This allowed the company to
reach consumers from all over the Caribbean which result in a boost of sales.
The website in still in operation and continues to provide the company's
