on Adult Day care (NIAD) but later changed their name in
1995 to better reflect the trends of the rapidly growing
industry to focus on day services for the adults with
disabilities.

national operational standards and guidelines, initiating
nationwide surveys and national accreditation, as well as
developing curriculum for professional development geared
to the needs of adult day services managers and direct care

Observation
Identified Problems
The problem is that NADSAs continue to see an
increase in participants who attend adult day care
centers throughout the United States however many
of these centers are over populated and there is a
need for additional centers but getting new centers
started is not always an easy process, nor is getting
funding.

A big concern for directors and owners of adult day

center as funding for these adult day care center rely
heavily on state legislatures and charities.

The funding for adult day center was greatly hit hard
by the recession in 2008 and is slowly making a
comeback.
Project Purpose

The overall purpose of this project is to

determine if there will be an increase in the need
of more adult day care center and also if funding
will be available for these additional center to
operate.
Propose a solution as to how more funding can
be made available to provide seniors who need
adult day care services with funding to attend.

Medicaid Chart
Recommend Action
Plan
Base on the assessment of the observation,
charts and surveys it recommends that
there is a need for NADSA to not just be
under state legislation but reach out to
local congressmen or congresswomen to
push for a law to have funding for adult day
services regulated on a federal level.

Continue to provide family support and

education services on senior adults with
