1997 year one
Bill Clinton was inaugurated for his second term; he
began his second term already accomplishing things
he had wanted. He had signed the North American
free trade agreement which has changed the economy
and allowed us to open our borders more comfortably
for business. Not long after he was inaugurated, he
was impeached on account of perjury before a grand
jury related to a sexual scandal. He then went on to
finish his three years after being acquitted. He signed
the Iraq libertarian Act directly opposing Saddam
Hussein. Leaving his office he was acquitted the
highest end of office approval rating of any other us
president.
2001
George W. Bush is elected president and bill
Clinton ends his second term. Only eight months
into his presidency, the attacks on the world
trade center unleashed a nationwide panic. His
decisions after slowly revolved around security,
changing the freedom we were accustomed to.
Most of his presidency was consumed by war in
the Middle East and a rising unemployment rate.
The U.S. commences its first attack on
Afghanistan in attempts to withdraw the Taliban.
By the end of December the Taliban had left the
capital.
2003
The war in Iraq was started by the bombing
of Baghdad after neither the United Nations
or the United States could resolve issues or
remove Saddam Hussein from power. The US
coalition began land operations for extraction
of Saddam with participation from British,
Australian, and polish troops. They eventually
seized control of Baghdad in the conflict. On
December 13th Saddam Hussein is captured
in a small bunker in Tikrit By the U.S. 4 th
Infantry division.
2007

Goerge bush announced a surge of


21,500 troops for the war in Iraq,
which showed positive signs after
being implemented. However the
progress on the political front with
Iraq doesnt keep pace with the
positive developments on the
military front. Four terrorist are

2009

- President obama takes oath of office for

h1n1 virus named swine flu was considered
a global pandemic by the world health
organization. Obama announces a surge of
an additional 30,000 troops to afgahnistan
to stem increased Taliban efforts. Although
it is suggested , it is not popular with the
liberal base of the democratic party.
2010
The U.S. house of representatives finalizes
the Healthcare legislation approved by the
senate, which extends the health benefits
and insurance to most Americans. This
affordable healthcare act has struck panic
and controversy as they disapprove of the
bill. A British oil rig explodes in the gulf of
Mexico causing the largest oil spill in the
history of the US. Initially killing eleven
workers and many marine wildlife and
damaging tourist industries
2011
Congress votes to pass the 2010-2011
budget after six months of negotiations,
including 38 billion in fiscal year cuts. In an
attempt to get the burgeoning federal deficit
under control. Osama bin laden the alleged
mastermind of 9/11 attacks is killed after a
10 year pursuit by united states forces and
coalition forces during a rain in Pakistan. The
final shuttle flight lands at the Kennedy
space center signifying the end of the NASA
program.
2012

granted in the state of Nevada to Google. These
cars were introduced as a concept in 1939.
Terrorist attack on a consulate in the Libyan city
of Benghazi kills four Americans, including
Ambassador John C Stevens, Showed the
continue of extremism and terrorism form the
Middle East. Hurricane sandy hits the East coast
and New Jersey coast near Atlantic city. President
Obama wins 332 electoral votes to 206 for his
second term in office against mitt Romney.
2013
Two bombs explode near the finish of the Boston
marathon, Killing three and injuring hundreds in a
terrorist attack coordinated by two brothers
associated with the radical islam, this attack led
to a shutdown of the entire city as police
searched for the suspects. Obamacare begins
registering people for expanded federal
government health insurance program despite a
variety of waivers in the rules and regulations.
Varies states allow the federal government to run
the exchanges for them, while some states set up
their own policies to sell them.
2015
riotsbegin in Baltimore after the death of Freddie gray
, a black male, in police custody. This and a few other
similar incidents in Ferguson led to the creation of the
black lives matter movement. Donald trump seeks
nomination as a republican almost immediately rising
to the top of the polls. Hillary Clinton also takes lead.

This was the first papal visit the the USA since pope
Benedict in 2008 and the only fourth pope ever to visit
the U.S. Islamic terrorist inspired act in san Bernadino,
California kills fourteen and follows a brutal attack
against citizens in Paris in November. These attack are
believed to be acted by isis in Syria, Iraq and others.
