1997 year one
Bill Clinton was inaugurated for his second term; he
began his second term already accomplishing things
he had wanted. He had signed the North American
free trade agreement which has changed the economy
and allowed us to open our borders more comfortably
for business. Not long after he was inaugurated, he
was impeached on account of perjury before a grand
jury related to a sexual scandal. He then went on to
finish his three years after being acquitted. He signed
the Iraq libertarian Act directly opposing Saddam
Hussein. Leaving his office he was acquitted the
highest end of office approval rating of any other us
president.
2001
George W. Bush is elected president and bill
Clinton ends his second term. Only eight months
into his presidency, the attacks on the world
trade center unleashed a nationwide panic. His
decisions after slowly revolved around security,
changing the freedom we were accustomed to.
Most of his presidency was consumed by war in
the Middle East and a rising unemployment rate.
The U.S. commences its first attack on
Afghanistan in attempts to withdraw the Taliban.
By the end of December the Taliban had left the
capital.
2003
The war in Iraq was started by the bombing
of Baghdad after neither the United Nations
or the United States could resolve issues or
remove Saddam Hussein from power. The US
coalition began land operations for extraction
of Saddam with participation from British,
Australian, and polish troops. They eventually
seized control of Baghdad in the conflict. On
December 13th Saddam Hussein is captured
in a small bunker in Tikrit By the U.S. 4 th
Infantry division.
