Other elements
MICROPROCESSOR
Computer processor which incorporates the
functions of a computer's central processing
unit (CPU) on a single integrated circuit (IC), or at
most a few integrated circuits.
Logic and sequential digital logic.
Numbers and symbols represented in the binary
numeral system.
MEMORY
In computing, memory refers to
the computer hardware devices used
to store information for immediate
use in a computer; it is synonymous
with the term "primary storage".
Computer memory operates at a
high speed, for example random-
access memory(RAM), as a
distinction from storage that
provides slow-to-access program
and data storage but offers higher
capacities.
An archaic synonym for memory
is store.
MOTHERBOARD
is the main printed circuit
board (PCB) found in general
purpose microcomputers and
other expandable systems.
It holds and allows
communication between
many of the crucial electronic
components of a system, such
as the central processing
unit(CPU) and memory, and
provides connectors for
other peripherals.
STORAGE DEVICES
Adata storage deviceis
a device forrecording
(storing)information
(data).
Recording can be done
using virtually any form
ofenergy, spanning from
manual muscle power
inhandwriting, to acoustic
vibrations
inphonographicrecording,
to electromagnetic energy
modulating magnetic
tapeandoptical discs.
PERIPHERAL DEVICES
A peripheral device is
defined as a
computer device,
such as a keyboard or
printer, that is not
part of the essential
computer. These
auxiliary devices are
intended to be
connected to the
computer and used.
INPUT/OUTPUT DEVICES
Aninput
devicesends
information to a
computer system
for processing, and
anoutput
devicereproduces
or displays the
results of that
processing.
OTHER ELEMENTS
SYSTEM BUS:
The system bus refers
to a single computer
bus that interconnects
the CPU , the system
memory and the other
major components of
a computer.A
computer bus
transfers data
between computer
components.
Arithmetic and Logic Unit
(ALU)
An arithmetic logic
unit (ALU) is
a combinational digital
electronic circuit that
performs arithmetic and bit
wise operations on integer
binary numbers. This is in
contrast to a floating-point
unit (FPU), which operates
on floating point numbers.
